Our History

Established in 2007, Shingler Construction is one of Shropshire’s leading building companies – Shingler Construction with a heritage dating back to the late 1990’s when our sister-company – Shingler Homes – was founded.

Shingler Construction has a reputation for quality and reliability, with expertise working across a wide range of industry sectors completing new building, renovation and conservation projects in licensed premises, commercial offices and residential developments.  Shingler Construction has both the expertise and resource to undertake anything from large domestic extensions to complex commercial design and build projects.

We are a family owned and run construction company based in the heart of the Shropshire countryside, almost halfway between Ellesmere and Shrewsbury in the village of Myddle.

Jeremy Shingler and his father Keith Shingler set up Shingler Homes, our sister company in the late 1990s, with Jonathan Shingler, joining his brother and father in the business in the early 2000s.  Shingler Construction was formed in 2007 with the homes division remaining focused on building new homes, whilst Shingler Construction took on a much wider remit – undertaking a complete range of building projects across all sectors.

In 2007 Shingler Homes and Construction moved to its new offices in Myddle, the village in Shropshire where the Shingler family grew up.  The company purchased the site and went on to develop 31 houses, including 6 affordable homes, a shop, post office and its new business HQ, creating a new heart for this small rural community.

In 2013 Shingler’s purchased the local village pub – the Red Lion.  The pub had been closed for two years, after a beautiful refurbishment completed by Shingler Construction the pub reopened in 2014, and remains a thriving venture at the heart of the community today.

Throughout challenging times in the construction sector a common sense, prudent and customer-centric approach to projects has ensured that we remain a strong and stable business, and a leading name in Shropshire for quality construction.

In early 2017 Shingler Homes and Construction launched a refreshed brand identity alongside two new websites that really showcase the company’s ethos and approach to building projects.
